from Richard's desk

In early October 2010 The ASD Clinic team relocated from Glen Iris to larger premises in Kew East - click here for full details.  You may notice that The ASD Clinic has a new logo, and a new branch of The ASD Clinic has opened in Malvern operated by Geoff Martin.  Geoff will split his time between the two clinics.

We are currently looking to expand our services and are asking for expressions of interest from other Psychologists, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists with experience in ASD to contact myself or Natasha at reception@theasdclinic.com.au.

Sophie Banfield has decided to concentrate on working through her own clinic and will leave us at the end of 2011.  We thank Sophie for the time with us and wish her well.

The team members at The ASD Clinic and I often are invited to present to parent and professional groups, and also at conferences and seminars.  Presentation formats, content and locations vary enormously depending on the session hosts.  Keep an eye on our News/Events page for details of forthcoming presentations.

I have also produced a DVD of my presentation "Imagine Having Asperger's Syndrome: A First Consultation".

"Imagine having Asperger's Syndrome: A First Consultation" - a DVD featuring Dr Richard Eisenmajer

In response to many requests 'to bottle what you have told us so we can tell others about Asperger's Syndrome' I have produced a DVD* which takes the form of a 'first consultation'.  After explaining the main features of Asperger's Syndrome in an accessible conversation format, I use anecdotes from my clinical practice to illustrate how people with this condition experience the world around them and the reasons why they either excel or struggle with everyday activities.

* also available in VHS video format

"Imagine having Autism"

I have also written a brief article to complement the material contained in this DVD recording - you can download a pdf copy here (109 KB)
